Dec. 1 – 3:30 p.m.UPDATE: Report: Voter turnout appears strong for today’s runoff

By Lou Phelps, Savannah Business Journal

Reports are coming in from poll watchers this morning, and voter turnout appears to be running high for a runoff election.  There also appear to be few complaints from the public about electioneering outside of polls, an improvement from the Nov. 3 election with numerous complaints of paid and volunteer workers with signs for candidates inside the 150 rule at polling locations.

Here are some of the early vote counts reports we are gathering:

  • At 2:30 p.m., 167 people had voted at Moses Jackson in District 1.

  • At 2:00 p.m., 175 people had voted at Bull Street Baptist Church.

  • As of 12:18 p.m. 201 people had voted at Grace Methodist Church, and 230 at 1:30 p.m.

  • At Aldersgate Methodist Church, 155 voting before midday.

  • First African Baptist on Treat Street had 200 voters by 1:00 p.m.

  • Christ Community Church had more than 300 voters by 1:00 p.m.

  • At JEA, 313 people had voted at 1:30 p.m.

  • At Central Church, 53 voted by 8:30 a.m.

  • At First Presbyterian, 162 voted as of 8:30. a.m.

  • At 10:25 a.m., 47 people voted at the Old County Courthouse.

  • At 8:00 a.m., 19 voted at Salvation Army at Bee Rd.

And, former District 2 candidate Andree Patterson, reports that the vote at W.W. Law Center was “very, very low” as of noon.

When a person votes, they can ask what number they are.  We welcome submissions to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to track live from the field.
