March 20, 2017 – The Georgia Dept. of Revenue has issued a bulletin to remind Georgia companies that the sales tax rates will increase in six counties as of April 1, including several in the Coastal Georgia area.

The sales tax rates increases, such as in Atlanta and Fulton County, are due in part to new taxes for special funding such as transportation, taxes added to already existing sales tax rates.

Cities and counties with rate hikes as of April 1 are:

Douglas County:  7.0 %

City of Atlanta:     8.9 %

Fulton County:     7.75 %

Glynn County:      7.0 %

Liberty County:    7.0 %

Pulaski County:    7.0 %
