December 11, 2018 - Last week, the Savannah City Council approved a motion to officially name the new cultural arts building the “Savannah Cultural Arts Center”
During the past month, residents have had the opportunity to submit their input on the center’s name. After 28 days, the Council reviewed over 160 submissions. The name “Savannah Cultural Arts Center” received the most submissions with over 20% of the total. “Savannah Center for the Arts” and “Savannah Community Arts Center” received 18% and 10%. All other submissions received less than 5% of the total.
The naming of the building, located at 201 Montgomery Street, highlights the City of Savannah’s dedication to the local cultural arts.
