January 15, 2020 - Ameris Bancorp recently announced that Elizabeth A. McCague and Gloria A. O’Neal, two directors on the Ameris Bancorp Board of Directors, were named on WomensInc.’s Most Influential Corporate Board Directors List for 2019. WomensInc. is a leading magazine dedicated to comprehensive coverage of women’s successes and achievements in business. 

“Beth and Gloria are strategic leaders bringing years of knowledge and expertise to our Board. Their guidance has been invaluable as we recently completed our largest merger to date, finalized Ameris Bank’s rebrand and continue to execute bold strategies for future success,” commented Ameris Bancorp Chairman James B. McCague has served as a director of Ameris Bancorp and Ameris Bank since August 2016. She currently serves as a consultant for the Jacksonville Police and Fire Pension Fund where she is responsible for the management of the $1.6 billion pension portfolio and the administration of benefits. McCague also provides mediation services for resolution of financial disputes at McCague & Company, LLC. A graduate of the University of Florida, McCague obtained her Master’s in Business Administration from Jacksonville University. The Florida State Supreme Court certified McCague as a county and civil court mediator.

O’Neal has served as a director of Ameris Bancorp and Ameris Bank since July 2019. She is a community leader and former Fidelity Bank risk control executive. Prior to her retirement from Fidelity Bank in 2014, O’Neal held positions at First Atlanta and at Fidelity Bank, where she was an internal auditor, operations manager, and executive vice president and chief risk officer. A strong community supporter, O’Neal has held and continues to hold several board positions and leadership roles for various civic and philanthropic organizations.
