Oct. 8 - Chatham County Commissioner Helen L. Stone Appointed to NACo Steering Committee

October 8, 2019 - Chatham County Commissioner Helen L. Stone has been appointed to the position of Subcommittee Chair for the National Association of Counties (NACo) Health Steering Committee.

The NACO Health Steering Committee deals with all matters pertaining to public health and healthy communities. This includes disease and injury prevention, health disparities reduction, and financing delivering health care.

Commissioner Stone shares the passion of Steering Committee to reduce mental health crises, homelessness, and incarceration by strengthening community based services. Services include early intervention, outreach, engagement, prevention crisis support, habilitation, employment, and peer run services.
