Savannah Business Journal Staff Report

November 30, 2018 - Family, friends and City of Savannah officials gathered this week as the Savannah Police Department held a Promotion and Badge Pinning Ceremony at the Savannah State University King Frazier Ballroom.

Director of Police Services Roy Minter recognized the promotion of Sgt. Gregory Friday, a 27-year veteran of the police department, and Sgt. Shawn Kinzer, a 17-year veteran.

Five women and nine men made up today’s graduating class after completing eight weeks at the Savannah Police Patrol School and 11 weeks of training at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Garden City. Their family and friends joined them on stage, where they were ceremoniously inducted into the department by the pinning on of their official badges.

“We ask that you have a great dedication to making a difference in this profession and in our community,” said Director Minter to the newly graduated officers and promoted sergeants. “Remember when you’re out there, you’re not just representing the Savannah Police Department, but you’re representing the entire law enforcement profession as a whole. Please continue to honor this profession with integrity and pride.”

Congratulations to Officers Roxy Cadet, Kody Debyah, Alysse Fucci-Deam, Claire Halliburton, Carl Harris, Dominic Lambert, Jermaine Lambert, Robin Mallory, Ian Mosteller, Ian Newman, Raymond Purnell, Dalton Scoggins, Kylie Scott and Danniel Smith.
