Oct. 15 - Savannah Music Festival Announces Tim Coy as Board Chairman, 2020 Officers and New Board Member

Savannah Business Journal Staff Report

October 15, 2019 - Savannah Music Festival recently named Tim Coy as its new Board Chairman for fiscal years 2020 and 2021.

The Savannah Music Festival’s 2020 officer slate includes three new Vice Chairmen in Bob Faircloth (Chairman Emeritus), Ron Whitaker (Past Chairman) and Thomas V. Reilly (Board Member and Endowment Committee Chair), along with returning Treasurer Vicki McElreath (Chair Elect) and returning Secretary Harold Yellin (Past Chairman).

The organization, now in its 31st season, also welcomes new board member Josh Keller.

“I’m thrilled to join the talented and accomplished leadership team of the Savannah Music Festival Board of Directors and look forward to supporting our team’s efforts to produce an exemplary cross-genre music festival, year-round music education programs for Savannah area students, national workshops for young musicians in jazz and acoustic music and distinctive off-season concert events,” said Board Chairman Tim Coy.

A Savannah Music Festival board member since the 2015 season, Tim Coy moved to Savannah in the mid-1970s after completing U.S. Naval service and developing a strong foundation in music and photography. He opened a Night Flight, a River Street club dedicated to live music, and for 13 years presented a wide range of artists before working and volunteering for the Lucas Theatre for the Arts in Savannah. A graduate of Yale University, Tim Coy is currently dedicated to his photographic work and to the continuing success of the Savannah Music Festival. He and his wife, Dorothea Summerall Coy, are longtime supporters of the performing arts in Savannah.

Josh Keller moved to Savannah in 2002 to open locations for Cellular Sales, a Verizon Wireless Retailer, and is currently a director for the company. He earned a degree in marketing from Indiana University and has served on the board of directors for a number of local organizations including the Savannah Downtown Neighborhood Association, Historic Savannah Foundation, Telfair Museums, Savannah Children’s Choir and Synovus Bank. Passionate about historic preservation, Keller oversaw the renovation and restoration of three properties in Savannah’s National Historic Landmark District. He and his wife, Kelley, currently reside on Whitemarsh Island with their two sons.
