Jon Robbins was appointed director of operations for Straight Way Communications and will oversee the programming for two properties in  Savannah – 92.3 WSGA and 100.1 WSSJ, as well as 92.5 WFJO, Jacksonville.  Robbins recently resigned his position as operations manager for Triad Broadcasting after three years and pursued sales with WRHQ; he began his new position Thursday June 29.

We have two tremendous properties in Savannah with huge potential and our new signal in Jacksonville has been upgraded significantly; 92.5 now has city grade coverage. I am very happy to be leading our programming team to ratings success in all three markets.”


Allstate exclusive agency owner Harold Jenkins of The Harold Jenkins Agency has been designated an Allstate Premier Service Agent for 2011.

Deemer Dana & Froehle LLP, Georgia’s premiere full-service certified public accounting firm, is pleased to announce the addition of a new team member to its administrative team – Angela Nicholson.

Nicholson joins Deemer Dana & Froehle as the firm’s administrative assistant where she will work in the administrative department. She brings a fresh attitude, enthusiastic smile and professionalism to her position at the firm. Coming from a corporate background, Nicholson appreciates the firm’s culture and already believes that everyone strives to create value – for each other and for the firm as a whole. Benjamin W. Karpf has joined Bouhan, Williams & Levy LLP as an associate.

Prior to joining Bouhan, Williams & Levy LLP, Karpf was an associate with Dow Lohnes PLLC, in Washington, DC for several years. His practice focuses on drafting, analyzing and negotiating commercial contracts, including license agreements, IT procurement agreements, services and consulting agreements, and sponsorship and advertising agreements. He also regularly counsels clients on various matters relating to copyright, trademark, technology and media law.

"I'm very excited to return to Savannah and I look forward to raising my family here," Karpf said. "DC is wonderful, but Savannah is home."

Karpf was awarded a J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center. While there, he was an annual survey editor for The American Criminal Law Review and a board member for the Equal Justice Foundation. Karpf was a legal intern for the Media Access Project and a summer law clerk for the Center for Democracy and Technology, both in Washington, DC.

Prior to his career in law, Karpf was web editor for a small national newspaper and information technology director for its non-profit sister organization.

Karpf earned an M.A. in communication, culture & technology from Georgetown University and has a B.A. in English, with a minor in jazz studies, from the George Washington University.
