Nov. 3 – SMALL BUSINESS FOCUS: The Detail Department Celebrates 10th Anniversary

November 3, 2016 – The Detail Department, a consulting firm specializing in event planning and public relations, marked its 10th anniversary with a reception last week for current and past clients who have helped owner Tammy Moseley Ray continues to grow and thrive.

Over 150 clients, vendors and associates attended the private event. 

Ray has spent more than 20 years planning events in various capacities, taking a step of founding her own company 10 years ago in Savannah.

 Her background includes serving as the director of the Tourism Leadership Council; the sales and marketing manager for a franchisee of 24 Hardee’s restaurants; the director of a career program for the Coastal Empire Council, Boy Scouts of America and a freelance writer for the Savannah Morning News.

Ray graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master’s degree in mass communication, and is a past president of the Junior League of Savannah, the Savannah Advertising Federation,  and has chaired numerous committees for both organizations.

A former member of the Savannah Technical College Community Council, she has served on the board of directors for America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia food bank, CrimeStoppers and Savannah Downtown Business Association.

Ray has also chaired committees for the American Diabetes Association, the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce and the Savannah Book Festival. And, her service has been recognized by the American Diabetes Association, the Junior League of Savannah and the Savannah Advertising Federation.

She was also named a Top 40 Under 40 business professional by the Savannah Business Report & Journal and received an ADDY advertising competition award from the Savannah Advertising Federation.

The Detail Department has planned and managed a diverse list of events, including art shows, awards dinners, book launch parties, conferences, customer appreciation events, galas, golf and tennis tournaments, groundbreaking ceremonies, luncheons, ribbon cuttings and swearing-in ceremonies.

Guests of the anniversary event were given supplies in a gift box and asked to participate in a note writing campaign to small business owners as a way of paying forward the encouragement Ray has received since starting her business.
