June 11 - Virginia College in Savannah to Host Health and Emergency Fair June 29

June 11, 2018 - Virginia College in Savannah will host a Health and Emergency Fair Friday, June 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the campus located at 14045 Abercorn St., Suite 1503. The event is free and open to the public and will feature refreshments, triage demonstrations, a variety of health-related checks and activities for all ages, including free health screenings, blood pressure checks, blood sugar checks, body mass index screenings and campus tours. Students and faculty from the campus Culinary program will offer healthy food tips and demonstrations, and local first responders and community partners will be on hand to facilitate emergency response training for situations like hurricanes, shootings and more. Attendees 18 and older can enter to win a pair of Jabra Elite 65t True Wireless Earbuds in addition to other prizes.

“We're particularly excited to host our Savannah community this June,” says Campus President Todd Cunningham. “As a campus, we are dedicated to encouraging one another as well as our neighbors toward healthy choices, and it is certainly a privilege to be able to equip our community with the knowledge and training needed to face emergency situations of all kinds. We hope that everyone will join us for this event, as we work toward healthy lifestyles and emergency preparedness.”

The event will also allow attendees to explore programs offered through Virginia College, including: Business Administration, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Medical Assistant, Medical Billing and Coding, Medical Office Specialist, Network and System Administration, Network Support Technician, Pastry Arts, Pharmacy Technician and Therapeutic Massage.
