Feb. 22 – Curtis Lewis to be named Chairman of the Board of Memorial Health Inc. at Thursday meeting

February 22, 2017 – The Board of Directors of Memorial Health, Inc. will hold its February board meeting tomorrow, Thurs. Feb. 23 at 5 p.m. in the Nurse’s Board Room.  The Board will also hold its Annual Meeting, usually held in January, at which time a slate of new officers will be proposed.

Curtis Lewis, will be proposed for Chair; Susan Willetts, Vice Chair; Marilyn Buck, Secretary; Bill Donahue, Treasurer; and Dale Jones, Assistant Secretary.  The nomination committee process was led by Jackie Rabinowitz, board member. 

J. Curtis Lewis III, is an attorney with the firm Hunter & Lewis, LLP, and a managing member of Lewis Commercial Properties, LLC.

He joined the Memorial Health Board of Directors in March 2004, served as treasurer for two years, and became vice chair in 2009.  He previously served as Chairman of the Board from 2011 through 2013.

He is also a member of the board of Savannah Health Mission, Union Mission, Inc., and The Savannah Bank, N.A.

He the past chair of the board of directors for Second Harvest Food Bank of Coastal Georgia and the Board of Deacons of First Baptist Church of Savannah, part of his long list of community and non-profit activities.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism, an MBA in finance, and a law degree at the University of Georgia.

There will also be a Resolution to fill a board member vacancy during the Annual Meeting portion of Thursday’s meeting,  but the name of that person was not included in today’s posted Agenda. 

Curtis Lewis will also announce the 2017 Committee Assignments, and outgoing Chairman Harry Haslam will report on “Other Business.”

The Agenda for the regular board meeting includes an operating report by Maggie Gill, outgoing CEO, and a financial report by CFO, Laura Dow.
