Savannah Business Journal Staff Report

January 20, 2020 - W Projects will present Designing the Future: A Climate for Change on Jan. 23, 2020, at 6 p.m. at Telfair Museums’ Jepson Center, in partnership with Telfair Museums’ PULSE Art + Technology Festival.

This FREE and open to the public interactive evening will feature three documentary shorts and presentations focusing on the technology helping our world face the results of climate change. Each presentation will be given by key experts in their respective fields with a focus on technological development. The event will culminate in a highly interactive reception filled with virtual reality stations, interactive art projections, and hands-on experiences from groups and organizations actively helping design a better future with technology.

This year’s speakers will be from Perkins & Will, Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, and Georgia Institute of Technology.

Showcasing various design and engineering fields and their pivotal role in defining our future, the event highlights the continued importance of STEM and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) education.

This evening will be the third partnership event between W Projects and Telfair Museums’ Art + Technology Festival. Founder of W Projects Erin Wessling states: “Designing the Future” allows us to provide an opportunity for the community to come together, to learn and interact with technological innovations that directly affect us right here in Savannah. This year’s theme, “A Climate for Change,” is especially poignant as we all start to focus more intently on preserving our coastal way of life.”
