Savannah Business Journal Staff Report

March 13, 2018 - State Representative Carl Gilliard (D-Garden City), along with Feed the Hungry and Savannah Technical College, will host the second annual Georgia Poverty Summit, a health and career fair, from Wednesday, April 4 – Friday, April 6, 2018, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. each day at Savannah Technical College. Organizations, churches, business owners and individuals interested in entrepreneurship or beginning a career are encouraged to attend.

“This year, the summit will continue to connect individuals that want to be free from the grips of poverty in Georgia to valuable resources,” said Rep. Gilliard.

The theme for the 2018 Georgia Poverty Summit is “Up and Out of Poverty,” and the three-day career and health fair will focus on the film and music industries and advertise jobs in those industries. Representatives from Georgia companies and state commissioners will present during the summit.

The Georgia Poverty Summit is free, but registration is required. To register, please call 912-436-5325.
