In a report on technology stocks last week, Edward Jones released a report on PC shipments and tablet sales that provided valuable information on hand-held tablet sales – valuable for business as they develop their web marketing strategies.  “Worldwide tablet shipments grew 304% in the second quarter from last year,” according to the investment firm. “…We believe tablets are personal computing devices due to their extensive operating systems and impressive processing power…With this in mind, tablets accounted for 14% of the personal computing market in the second quarter, up from just 4% a year ago. Overall, we expect 10%-15% annual growth in personal computing devices through 2015. Mac shipments grew 8% in the U.S. during the third quarter, comparing favorably to a flat year-over-year performance for the overall U.S. market. This resulted in U.S. market share of 11.3%, up from 8.3% last year at this time. While the modern tablet era is still in its early stages, we view Apple as the primary beneficiary of the rapid shift toward tablets. Specifically, we expect Apple's share of the combined personal computing market to rise from 8% today to about 16% in 2015,” said Edward Jones.

The Landings Association is trying to get property owners to agree to increase their property assessments at the region’s largest gated community, but as of last week, they were struggling to get the needed percentage of property owners to even respond, much less support an increase.  As of the deadline today, they achieved a 70% response rate.  Results of the vote will be released late Tuesday, November 1.
