Savannah Business Journal Staff Report

November 7, 2017 - Thomas County Federal has expanded into Savannah with the opening of a loan production office in the downtown district. The bank’s newest location will offer commercial lending solutions to large and small businesses in the area.

“Thomas County Federal is no stranger to Savannah. Many of our key personnel in Thomasville are from the area or have long-standing, positive relationships in the community,” said Rodney Deese, president and CEO, Thomas County Federal. “We have a deep knowledge of the region, so it was a natural fit when the opportunity presented itself for the bank to expand into the market.”

B. Trapper Griffith is leading the expansion into Savannah as Senior Vice President in Commercial Lending. He brings years of experience to the bank, having previously served as Vice President Commercial Relationship Manager at a southeastern community bank. He said businesses in the Savannah area can expect a different kind of banking experience with Thomas County Federal.

“We are excited to show Savannah businesses why Thomas County Federal has been in the community banking business for more than 80 years,” he said. “The bank’s reputation is built on being highly personable, exploring every option available and serving clients with their best interest in mind. They’ll experience that standard each and every time they interact with us.”

The Savannah loan production office is Thomas County Federal’s third location. The bank recently opened a full service branch in Tallahassee, led by longtime community bankers Matt Brown, Linda Bergman and Nat Higdon.
