December 12, 2017 - Divorce is painful, stressful, and confusing. It is also expensive. According to data from NOLO.com, the average total cost of divorce in the United States is $15,500 to $20,000. Enter Divorce U Solutions, a firm dedicated to demystifying and disrupting the divorce process that has recently expanded to a second location at 42 New Orleans Road, Hilton Head, South Carolina.
The addition of a Hilton Head office to its existing location in the Philadelphia suburbs, at 1705 Langhorne-Newtown Road, Langhorne, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, allows the firm to better serve its expanding east coast client base.
Co-founded byCatherine Shanahan, a certified divorce financial analyst, trained mediator, and Daily Money Manager, and Karen Chellew, a legal liaison, paralegal, and QDRO administrator, Divorce U Solutions meets the needs of clients – mainly, but not solely, women – who know they need help navigating the system but are not certain where to begin.
“Divorce U Solutions is the first of its kind,” said Shanahan. “We’ve changed the way people get divorced by deconstructing the process, showing the steps and providing expert guidance to help turn a troubling situation into an opportunity for empowerment. We work with our clients to create a clear action plan of what to expect before, during and after divorce.”
Both Catherine and I have been through divorce,” said Chellew. “I spent an incredible amount of money on my divorce, which took ten years to finalize because I didn’t know any better. We created Divorce U Solutions out of a passion for helping women get the information we wish we had when we were getting divorced. Ours is a judgment-free space, where our clients can be heard, go through their emotions and receive the knowledge they need. We work with them to achieve clarity before they make the important decisions that will affect them and their families moving forward.”
Divorce U Solutions uses a unique three-step process to help individuals make their way through the divorce process, providing financial analysis and review of settlement options, mediation, settlement negotiation, and legal liaison services. As Shanahan often tells clients, “Make the rest of your life the best of your life.”
