March 19, 2012 – You see their television ads, but you may not know that their company is focused on more than just selling cars.
According to Chad NeSmith, general manager of NeSmith Chevrolet Buick GMC in Jesup, his company is focused on literacy in Jesup County in a big way.
Partnered with the Jesup Rotary Club , the auto dealership is sponsoring the “Wonders of the World Through Education” (W.O.W.) Golf Tournament March 31st – April 1st, 2012 at Pine Forest Country Club located at 2401 S Highway 301 Jesup, GA. They’re hoping to attract business executives from around the region to play.
The W.O.W. Tournament is designed to help raise funds for the Wayne Literacy Alliance to provide books, supplies and tutoring lessons for children throughout the county.
“It is one of the Rotary Club’s primary initiatives to increase our county’s literacy rate, and NeSmith Chevrolet is happy to help support this cause,” said NeSmith. “It will be an exciting tournament including a Calcutta and a chance to win a new vehicle from NeSmith Chevrolet!”
Funds raised from the W.O.W. Golf Tournament will provide books for all babies born in Wayne County up to age five, supplies for GED class participants, books for Boys and Girls Club tutoring lessons and books to stock the Wayne County Library that match the books going into the homes.
The NeSmith Automotive Organization is composed of two “No Hassle” dealerships including NeSmith Chevrolet Buick GMC in Jesup and NeSmith Chevrolet Buick GMC in Claxton.
Martin NeSmith pioneered “No Hassle Buying” in 1991,being the 3rd automotive dealership in the nation to move toward a more customer focused business approach, according to Chad.
“We encourage local businesses and individuals to get involved in this tournament. A small donation or hole-sponsorship will help provide books for Wayne County children to give them the tools for a bright future and help pave a path for success,” added NeSmith.
Sponsorship amounts vary and provide 12 books for each child from the time they are born up until the age of five.
For example, a $200 donation sponsors a hole at the tournament and provides 8 children with books, a $100 donation sponsors four children, a $50 donation sponsors two children and a $25 donation sponsors one child.
Checks can be made payable to Jesup Rotary Club to the attention of Margaret Jacobs at 5929 Beards Bluff Rd. Odum, Ga. 31555.
